The Non-GMO Project is the only organization providing independent, third-party verification and non-GMO guidance for products in the U.S. and Canada.

Silk products contain only soybeans grown without genetic engineering, right here in North America. We employ robust testing protocols to ensure that our beans meet the highest standards of quality, consistency and safety. The organic soybeans that we use are certified organic by independent agencies accredited by the the Canada Agricultural Products Act (CAPA), in compliance with the organic requirements set by the Organic Products Regulations 2009 (OPR).

Grown close to home, our almonds are produced right here in North America and are always Non-GMO Project Verified.

According to the Non-GMO Project, "A GMO, or genetically modified organism, is a plant, animal, microorganism or other organism whose genetic makeup has been modified using recombinant DNA methods (also called gene splicing), gene modification or transgenic technology. This relatively new science creates unstable combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and viral genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods." Yes, we use ultra-high temperature (UHT) pasteurization to ensure that our products are free of harmful microorganisms.

We use cane sugar to sweeten our products.

Every product we offer is enrolled in The Non-GMO Project, which means a third party reviews our ingredients and protocols to make sure we meet the Project’s high standards for non-GMO foods. Once the evaluation is complete, we’re cleared to display the “Non-GMO Project Verified” seal on our packaging. Because the verification process is elaborate, and updating our packaging can take a few months, you may see some of our newer products on the shelf without the “Non-GMO Verified” seal in place. Our 236 ml almond beverage singles are verified by the Non-GMO Project, but don’t carry the seal simply due to space constraints on a small package.
